Nicholas Paul Aker, Norris Briscoe and BrShai Kevin Peters were booked into the Bell County Jail Sunday on aggravated robbery charges.
A woman, Jasmine Monique Stelly, was also booked into the Bell County Jail, but her exact charges were not clear.
The Temple Police Department SWAT team assisted Houston police and U.S. Marshals in locating the suspects.
Two of the suspects were found walking near Sam’s Club in the 1400 block of Marianwood Road around 2:15 p.m., and the other two were located a short time later at the Canyon Creek Townhomes in the 1400 block on Canyon Creek Drive.
HPD said the independent cab driver picked up the suspects from the Greyhound bus station in downtown Houston on May 6.
The driver then drove the suspects to the Pines of Westbury apartments, located in the 12600 block of Dunlap at Fonmeadow, around 12:30 a.m.
After arriving at the complex, police said the suspects shot the driver eight times, then took his van and wallet.
"Our victim was able to make it to two different apartments where he banged on the door for help," said Roger Chappell with the Houston Police Department. "Some other people were going into their apartments and called 911 for him."
The victim managed to give a woman who came to his aid a few details of the shooting before emergency crews arrived.
"He told me he was driving a white van and had some guys with him and they robbed him," she said. "He looked very tore up because he was shot in his tummy and chest and everywhere. He had big holes coming out of his body."
Hours after the shooting, a Crime Stoppers tip led Houston police to the driver’s minivan, which was abandoned in southwest Houston.
Investigators continued searching, which eventually led them to the suspects.
Authorities said two of the suspects have criminal records. Aker was already on probation from prior charges of robbery threats and Peters had prior charges of resisting and evading arrest.
All four suspects will be extradited to Harris County as Houston police continue to investigate.
The cab driver was still listed in critical condition at Ben Taub Hospital Monday.
